The prestigious Double Gold Medal is awarded to Acre Distilling’s Two Minnies Gin, made with botanicals sourced from around the globe and distilled in Fort Worth, Texas. A Silver Medal is awarded to Acre Distilling’s newest release, Texas Single Malt Whisky – a 100% Texas product from grain to glass. FORT WORTH, TEXAS, March 28, 2019 — Acre Distilling wins a Double Gold and Silver medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC). Acre Distilling’s Two Minnies Gin is crafted with botanicals sourced from around the globe, including Italian juniper berries, French lavender, Jamaican allspice, Guatemalan cardamom, and Indian fennel. The botanicals are brought to the Fort Worth facility to be distilled into a bright, refreshing juniper and lavender-forward London Dry-style gin. The prestigious Double Gold distinction is awarded when all the members of the SFWSC judging panel give a Gold medal rating to a spirit. The gin also received a silver medal at the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition in 2017. SFWSC 2019 awards a Silver medal for Acre Distilling’s newly released Texas Single Malt Whisky. This spirit begins from barley grown and harvested in Hillsboro, Texas. The barley is malted and milled at Fort Worth’s Texmalt and immediately transported to Acre Distilling. At Acre’s downtown Fort Worth distillery, the product is then mashed, fermented, distilled, and aged in new charred American white oak barrels. This smooth sipping Single Malt is 100 proof and 100% Texan from grain to glass. Founded in December of 2015 inside a historic building in downtown Fort Worth, Acre Distilling is led by owner Tony Formby and distiller JB Flowers, both formerly of Rahr Brewing Company. The award-winning Acre Distilling crafts a variety of artisan spirits, including whisky, vodka, gin, rum, cordials, and liqueurs. Their line of products includes Los Angeles International Spirits Competition medaling Wooded Gin (Silver 2017), Ginger Peach Tea Vodka (Bronze 2017), Cinnamon Whisky (Bronze 2017), and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition awarded Two Minnies Gin (Double Gold 2019), and Texas Single Malt Whisky (Silver 2019).
